About this worksheet
Four solid shapes down the left, each labeled (cone, sphere, cube and cylinder), and four party things down the right: a gift box, a birthday cake, a party hat and a ball. Confetti frames the title.
Kindergarten is where children first meet solid shapes by name, and a party is an easy way in, since every object is something they already know. The party hat is a cone, the ball is a sphere, the present is a cube and the cake is a cylinder. If you have a real ball or a box nearby, hand it over and ask which shape it is.
