A scalloped cloud border wraps the page under the heading “Shape Tracing Time.” Five rows, each with a solid model shape followed by four dotted copies: circle, square, triangle, rectangle and octagon. The dotted outlines are widely spaced, so there is room for a fat pencil or a crayon.
Start a new tracer here. Four of the five shapes are the ones a child meets first, and having the square and the rectangle in consecutive rows is the quickest way to make the difference physical rather than explained: the hand does four equal sides, then two long and two short. The octagon at the bottom is the stretch, and eight short sides is a genuinely good workout for pencil control.
