Kindergarten Shape Tracing: Star, Heart and Hexagon

“Let’s Trace Shapes!” runs across the top between two small stars, on a page styled like a riveted metal plate. Six ruled rows each begin with a solid model shape and give four dotted copies to trace: oval, heart, crescent, star, pentagon, hexagon.

This is the hardest tracing sheet of the four here, and the star is the reason. Five points mean ten changes of direction, and most children need a few tries before the middle stops collapsing. The crescent is worth watching too, since it is the only shape on the page made from two curves that meet at points. If a child is still fighting the star, use the circle-and-square sheet first and come back to this one.
