About this worksheet
Ten pairs, each a noun with a pronoun beside it: the bus and it, my dad and she, the frogs and it, Mom and I and we. The child decides whether the pronoun can take the place of the words and circles a thumbs up or a thumbs down.
Half the pairs fit and half do not. Judging an answer is a different job from producing one, and it is often where a child who has been guessing finally stops to think about why.
The wrong ones cover the usual slips: she for a man, they for one cat, it for a group of frogs, and they for Sam and I.
