Six describing words on guided handwriting lines, each paired with a picture that shows it: soft next to a teddy bear, big next to an elephant, hot next to a smiling sun, wet next to a duck in a puddle, tall next to a giraffe and fast next to a race car. A child traces the dotted word, writes it again on the rest of the line, and colors the picture.
This is the gentlest page in the set and the right one to start with if adjectives are brand new. Pairing each word with an image it obviously fits means a child meets the meaning and the spelling at the same time, and the coloring gives a reason to sit with the word after the writing is finished. It prints in black and white, so a full class set costs almost nothing in ink.
