About this worksheet
Six pictures of people with something that belongs to them: Tom with his kite, Ana with her bike, Sam and Kim with their tent, Grandpa in his hat. Under each picture, the child reads that someone has something, then circles his, her or their to finish “It is ___ kite.”
First grade is when possessive pronouns join the list, and his, her and their are the three a child uses most. The pictures make it clear who owns what, so the only question is which word fits.
What students will practice
- Use his, her and their to show who owns something
- Choose between two possessive pronouns
- Read a two-sentence picture clue
