About this worksheet
Six picture scenes, like a dog in the bath, Lily painting a sun, kids digging at the beach and Grandma reading in her chair. Under each one is a pair of sentences: the first names someone, and the second leaves a blank for the pronoun that stands in for them.
That pair of sentences is how pronouns actually work in writing: a name comes first, and the next sentence carries on with he or she. The word box at the top has all five choices, and the child writes the answer rather than circling it.
What students will practice
- Write a pronoun to finish a sentence
- Use a pronoun for a noun in the sentence before
- Choose from he, she, it, we and they
