About this worksheet

A bubble wand trailing soap bubbles, and four panels of ten or eleven bubbles around an anchor word. Pig holds big, dig, wig, fig, jig and twig among bat, sun, cup, map and tub. Hop holds top, mop, pop, cop, shop, stop and drop among cat, leg and sit. Bug holds rug, hug, mug, jug, tug, dug and plug among net, pan and lid. Pen holds ten, hen, den, when and then among fan, mud, log, tap and six.

Twenty five bubbles get dabbed. The pen panel is the interesting one: “when” and “then” both rhyme, and both start with a digraph rather than a single letter, which is exactly the case a child tends to skip because the word does not look like the others. Worth checking that panel together at the end.
