About this worksheet

A hedgehog in the corner, a dashed border, and eight prompts with three blanks each: fish, bell, duck, sand, king, moon, cake and tree.

The hardest page in this set. The prompts have narrow families and most need a blend or a digraph to answer at all: fish takes dish, wish and swish and very little else, and sand needs band, hand, land or stand. Best used after the two easier write-your-own pages, and it is entirely reasonable to work the first two prompts together out loud before handing it over.

What students will practice

  • Find rhymes for four-letter words with blends and digraphs
  • Write three answers for each of eight prompts
  • Work past the easy CVC families
