About this worksheet
A gumball machine in the corner and four panels, each with a big anchor word ringed by eleven gumballs. Cat holds bat, hat, mat, rat, sat and flat among bed, sun, log, pig and cup. Pan holds can, man, ran, fan, tan, van and plan among bus, leg, mud and six. Hot holds pot, dot, cot, not, got, spot and trot among web, bag, cap and tub. Lip holds dip, tip, rip, zip, ship and chip among bun, jet, mop, fox and ten.
Twenty six words get dabbed in total, six or seven per panel, and the sheet never says how many, so a child cannot stop at the first one they find. Bingo daubers were clearly the intent but a crayon or a marker works identically. The blend and digraph words, flat, plan, spot, trot, ship and chip, are what puts this at first grade rather than kindergarten.
