About this worksheet

Eight prompts with three blanks each, inside a teal double border with a fox in the corner: ham, lip, log, nest, tub, sock, gum and kid. Nothing to circle and nothing to color.

Producing a rhyme is a much harder job than recognising one, which is why this sits at first grade even though the words are short. There is no answer key because there is no single answer, and “nest” is the prompt that usually stalls people: best, rest, vest and west are all there, but a child has to go looking. Nonsense words are worth accepting on the first pass if the sound is right.
