The top half is four rows of proper handwriting lines with my, his, her and its printed twice in dotted letters and the rest of the row left empty. The child traces both, then keeps going on their own to the end of the line.
The bottom half stops giving help. Four sentences with a blank and a picture, and no word bank anywhere on the page. I have a pup, Dan has a kite, Ivy has a mug, the pig has a pen. Having just traced all four words a few minutes earlier is the only support a child gets, which is the point of pairing the two halves on one sheet.
Worth knowing before you hand it over: the pen in question is the sort a pig lives in, and the picture shows the fence. A child who has only met the writing kind of pen may need that said out loud once.
