About this worksheet
Eight picture cards, each with a short sentence and two adjectives that are opposites: hot or cold cocoa, a wet or dry dog, a full or empty cookie jar, a smooth or prickly cactus. The child circles the word that matches the picture and then writes it on the line to finish the sentence.
Pairing opposites keeps the choice clear, so the sheet is about reading the adjective and connecting it to what the picture shows, not about guessing. Writing the word as well as circling it gets a second look at the spelling. Messy or neat and spotted or striped are the pairs that make children look closely at the picture rather than going on the first impression.
It is a colorful sheet and a quick one, good for a warm up or for a child who is just getting comfortable with the word adjective.
