About this worksheet
Frogs and toads get mixed up all the time, and this passage sorts them out: smooth skin against bumpy, long leaps against short hops, ponds against gardens, egg clumps against egg strings. It also covers what they share, from tadpoles to the surprising fact that neither one drinks with its mouth.
The Venn diagram is the main event, and it asks for at least two details in each part, so a child has to go back through the passage and sort every fact. Question five asks why the author wrote it, which is a good place to talk about compare and contrast as a way of organizing nonfiction.
