Big and small is one of the first ways young children learn to compare, and it leads straight into kindergarten math, where describing and comparing objects by size is part of measurement. Most of this set compares two pictures of the same thing, because that is the clearest version of the idea. Sheet 08 changes the question to real-world size, and the last sheet brings in a third size, which is where smallest and biggest start to mean something.
Nothing here asks a child to read on their own, though a grown-up will want to read the instructions and the BIG and SMALL labels aloud the first time.
